At Harmony Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics in Bethesda, we take a functional approach to treatment. That is to say, we look at dental health not only on its own, but also in how it relates to the rest of the body, and vice-versa. Board-certified specialists Drs. Madeleine Goodman and Heather Sholander came together in their careers and their ideals to create a pediatric dental practice that operates on a philosophy of harmonious interconnectedness. By combining art and science, STEM and creativity, orthodontic treatment and pediatric services, Harmony Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics offers comprehensive care for children and orthodontics for the entire family. With an integrative and efficient style, we are bringing quality, patient-centered care to Bethesda and surrounding communities.
Dr. Maddy Goodman and Dr. Heather Sholander have always had a lot in common. They both grew up in families of doctors or dentists and held strong interests in science, medicine, and helping others from their youngest days. When they met at Light Pediatric Dentistry, it wasn’t long before they realized that they shared a passion for integrative and innovative care that treats dentistry and orthodontics as a part of the larger whole of overall health and wellbeing. After eight years, they decided to open their own practice where they could implement their collective vision of dentistry and orthodontics for their community.
We specialize in a wide array of orthodontic procedures, from traditional metal and ceramic braces to Invisalign clear aligner therapy. Dr. Goodman will guide your child through the orthodontics process to give them a head-start towards a lifetime of dental wellbeing.
Children are more than just tiny adults. They have their own personalities, their own fears, and their own feelings. Your little ones benefit immensely from receiving dental care from doctors who specialize in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Sholander has over a decade of experience in making children smile.
Harmony Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics is a definitely a five star place. They care very deeply about their patients. Also, they kindly explain their procedures and show the x-rays without having to ask, but they will answer any question a parent has and make sure you understand before the appointment is done. The administration is very friendly and helpful too.
Dr. Goodman and Dr. Sholander are excellent pediatric dental practitioners. They managed all three of my children's ortho and dental care needs for 8 years (I have two children with special needs so this requires serious super powers!). They are infinitely patient, kind, and gentle with their young clients and are very passionate about their profession. Highly recommend.
Dr. Goodman and Dr. Sholander have created the consummate pediatric dentistry practice. From the calm, clean, and modern new space to their thoughtful, kind, and accommodating staff, they are a practice that is thoughtful, practical, and trustworthy. They listen to our concerns and help us find solutions. Our children don’t mind going there and feel comfortable and safe. In fact, our kids often ask why others are afraid of the dentist!! With lots of pediatric options, we chose this practice because of its commitment to its patients and parents. Finally, they are always on time, which is a rarity in many places. If you are looking for an individualized, kind, too notch practice, this is it.
As an orthodontic and pediatric practice, our goal is to help create the next generation of healthy smiles through an early adoption of good dental habits. City Blossoms is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering healthy communities through the creation of kid-driven green spaces and gardens in urban settings. These spaces promote creativity, healthy habits, and environmental awareness through a direct connection with nature. Based out of Washington D.C., but active nationwide, City Blossoms is making an impact every day, giving children across the country a healthy relationship with the natural world. For every new patient we will support this cause by donating plants to help their gardens grow because we believe that health starts from the ground up!
